Metro Industrial Services is seeking to immediately fill the position of Plant Manager for a company in Hamptonville, NC. This is a Direct Hire. Apply now!


Responsibilities for this position include the following:



  • Drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes

  • Oversee the daily operations of the plant from manufacturing through shipping, ensuring all processes and policies are followed

  • Responsible for the safety of all manufacturing associates

  • Exercise knowledge and skills to maximize OEE, safety, quality, and productivity


Other responsibilities:



  • Plan, organize, and direct the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plant

  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to align with the Company’s lean manufacturing strategy

  • Develop and/or enhance process tracking mechanisms to ensure performance targets are being met

  • Responsible for production, product quality, and on-time shipping

  • Actively support and participate in Kaizen events that improve operations and employee knowledge of Lean manufacturing

  • Promote safety and environmental compliance through active participation and support of company safety policies and programs

  • Support and align with Strategic Plans set forth by Director of Operations

  • Maintain standards for TS 16949 and ISO 14001 certifications

  • Actively work to recruit qualified employees

  • Use effective strategies to lower turnover and retain quality employees

  • Effective coaching and development of direct reports and entire shop floor team

  • Promote harmony in the workplace through open communication and fairness to all employees

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies including HR policy manual and Quality, Safety, and Environmental policies

  • Maintain cross-functional dialog with Directors of Engineering and Quality, R&D, and Purchasing Departments with issues and concerns related to manufacturing, design, launch, and vendor management

Required Qualifications :

Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:



  • 5-8 years of prior Plant Management or equivalent experience

  • Manufacturing experience with multi-shift plants with 400+ employees

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (Degree must be from an accredited institution)

  • Demonstrated experience supporting and implementing Lean Manufacturing on the shop floor

  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and analytical skills

  • Knowledge of logistics and shipping best practices

  • Prior experience with budgets and financial systems

  • Computer skills required (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)


Other experience Preferred:



  • Automotive Industry experience

  • Certification in Lean or Six Sigma

  • Experience with hydraulic presses and non-woven industries



  • Must adhere to all company and location policies and safety rules

  • Must be able to work extended hours when required

  • Must carry out all other duties as assigned
