Metro Industrial Services is immediately hiring a Human Resource Generalist for a company in Hamptonville, NC. The successful candidate will provide Human Resource support in the areas of Benefits Administration, Recruitment and Retention, and Employee Relations as well as for special projects as directed. Human Resource Generalist will also serve as backup for other HR team members when needed. This is a Direct Hire. Apply now!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides support in Benefits Administration for Health and Welfare Benefit Plans including Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA, FSA, COBRA, Life, Disability, FMLA, and Telemedicine

  • Supports location HR staff and CHQ employees to answer benefits questions

  • Participates in conducting employee benefit meetings

  • Performs corrections as needed in HRIS panels

  • Assists in recruitment efforts for TAS open positions

  • Assists in the New Hire and Onboarding of new hires

  • Tracks work-related injuries, submits Workers Compensation initial claims, records OSHA logs and works with supervisors to monitor return-to-work programs

  • Monitors all FMLA and Disability claims for domestic locations with vendor and location HR staff

  • Reviews and approves weekly disability payments for all locations for processing in Payroll

  • Acts as backup for other HR positions as needed

  • Carries out HR Administrative responsibilities

  • Completes special projects as directed

Required Qualifications :

Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities required for consideration as a candidate: (Degree must be from an accredited institution)

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent education and experience

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in Human Resources as a Generalist

  • Experience in Recruitment and Retention

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems

  • Understanding of employment laws and regulatory issues

  • Exceptional organizational skills and detail orientation

  • Effective vendor management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work well with all levels of the organization

  • High level of sensitivity to employee relations issues

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and act as a trusted member of the HR Staff

  • Good analytical, quantitative, and project management skills

Additional Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • PHR Certification

  • Experience with PeopleSoft HRIS

  • Experience working in a corporate and manufacturing environment
